MS 150 Bike Ride – Day 1
It’s already been two weeks since the bike ride, time flies. So much has happened in the last two weeks so expect a flood of posts in the next few weeks. Focus Jason…the bike ride… First off let me say it was awesome hanging out with Dave and Arkay and a big thank you to them for letting Frank and I stay with them. Friday night we ate out at the Okiboji Grill in Ankeny. Since I could use the upcoming ride as an excuse to eat obscene amounts of food I elected for the Okiboji Cheeseburger Melt with an extra patty. Apparently no one orders the extra hamburger patty because our server looked at me like I was nuts. I’m off to MS Bike 150
In a couple of hours I’ll be packed up and off to visit our good friends Dave and Arkay in Ankeny. I still had a tough getting out during the week though (as in it never happened). Knowing me I’ll probably never feel completely prepared but I learned some lessons from last year that will get me through this year. This year...
Bike MS 2009 – Day 2
As I’m sure you can imagine I slept soundly the night before. Unfortunately, the rest of my team was on a different side of the dorm, the side with the huge party going on outside. So Amanda had trouble getting to sleep. The people partying must have been those who weren’t riding the next day. Or that’s what I’m choosing to think since my whole team was dead tired. At breakfast I was feeling much better than I expected I would. We all ate a large breakfast, got our bikes and we were off again at little before 8:00 am. A funny thing we notice was as each person was getting on their bikes at the start line everyone of them would let out a low groan as they sat on their bike seats for the first time. We were not exceptions. That was still the...
